A mobile operating system (Mobile OS) is an Operating system built exclusively for a mobile device, such as a smart phone, smart watches, personal digital assistant (PDA), tablet etc. A mobile OS is similar to a standard OS (like Windows, Linux and Mac) but is relatively simple and light. Android, iOS, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry OS and Symbian are the popular mobile operating systems.

It is the second most popular using mobile operating system globally after Android. IOS is the member of Mac OS family. iOS launched on june 29, 2007 first time. This mobile app has been collectively downloaded more than 130 billion times.
  3. Windows Mobile-Windows Mobile is a mobile operating systems developed by Microsoft for smart phones and Pocket PCs. It is based on the Windows CE kernel. Windows Mobile itself first appeared in 2000 as Pocket PC 2000. It was renamed “Windows Mobile” in 2003 and it came in several versions (similar to the desktop versions of Windows) and was aimed at business and enterprise consumers. Windows 10 Mobile operating system developed by the Microsoft Corporation in 2015. Windows 10 Mobile was designed for use on smart phones.

Desktop operating system is design for mainly Desktop computer or Laptop Computers. The most using desktop operating system is Microsoft Windows. Beside this, Linux and Mac O two other desktop operating systems that is used by IT professionals.

Windows:-Windows is the most popular operating system which currently has 90 percent market Therefore, most of the application programs are developed for running according to window as compared to any other operating system. Windows come with diversity of different versions. Its latest version was released as Windows Vista, 2007. As compared to the earl system Windows XP Windows Vista provides many improvements. Windows NT, Window 95/98 Windows 2000/2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 is the Important operating systems of Microsoft.
  2. LINUX-Linux is a family of open-source operating systems, which means they can be modified and distributed by anyone around the world. This is different from proprietary software. Linux is a multiuser, multi-tasking and graphical user interface operating system which was developed in 1991 by Linus Torvalds. It is an advanced form of UNIX operating system. This operating system is availed free of cost by general public license. It provides multiuser. Therefore, it ca be run easily by connecting more than one nodes to the server computer on which it is loaded.
  3. Mac OS- The Macintosh Operating System (Mac OS) is an operating system (OS) designed by Apple and introduced in 1984. Mac OS is designed to operate on Apple manufactured computers a by default, does not support x86 architecture. It is a graphical user interface (GUI) bas Operating System that has since been released as multiple different version.
